A little further afield than my usual Cornwall based wedding, it was a great first visit to the Deer Park Hotel with some lovely wedding photography in spite of some very rainy weather.
Jessica her family and bridesmaids got ready at the hotel in a very nice lodge/cabin with Dan following along with a massive number of best men who got ready in one of the hotel rooms.
The sun was shining to start the day as I headed to document the bridal preperations although the clouds began to gather and rain then followed. The wedding which was due to take place outside in the beautiful grounds at Deer Park decided to be held in the newly decorated Orangery.
After capturing some details and preperations from the girls, I headed over to get some pictures of the boys getting ready with the usual cameraderie between them, then straight back to the girls to capture the final and all important putting on of the dress.
Heading to the Orangery, I was able to get some pictures of guests arriving as well as some more formal pictures of the groom and his men. The bride and her bridesmaids then made their entrance. The ceremony was a relaxed and fun occasion and went without a hitch which is always a plus.
After the ceremony a friend arranged to bring their beautiful and very large dog to be a part of the formal photographs which we took in one of the large and beautiful rooms at the hotel.
Due to the persistant rain, we had to wait for a dry spell where we headed outside for some portraits of the happy couple. Due to it still being overcast, I lit the couple with a studio style flash and softbox to help make them stand out from the beautiful background with fields in the distance and colourful flowers and plants. We also took a portrait featuring the Deer Park Hotel as the backdrop with a lovely fountain as some forground. Some of my favourite pictures to date and hope to return for another Deer Park Hotel Wedding sometime soon.
