Here is the wedding photography of Chris and Laura’s wedding at The Carnmarth Hotel in Newquay.
Married in June 2016, at the Carnmarth Hotel in Newquay with breathtaking views over Fistral beach and far out to sea.
Chris and Laura wanted more natural documentary style photography for their wedding and due to it taking place later in the day and being a very relaxed an informal wedding, also didn’t need the bridal preperations documented.
I arrived at the Carnmarth hotel around lunchtime to document some of the details around the hotel and guests arriving. Chris was already there and just a little nervous.
Laura arrived with her father to speak with the registrar before the ceremony as I got into place to photograph her entrance to the ceremony and to capture Chris and his reaction which is always lovely to see. Clearly a couple very much in love the ceremony was a very light hearted and fun occasion for them both with lots of laughs and smiles especially with Laura trying to put the ring onto Chris with his finger obviously slimmer than his knuckle.
Portraits of the bridal party and family were taken looking over the sea behind the hotel after the ceremony using my Profoto high power flash units to reduce the effect of the strong sunlight and harsh shadows cast onto their faces. Usually solved by putting the sun behind, this wasn’t possible to get the beautiful background in the picture.
There was a very relaxed and delicious barbecue served after the speeches with the warm sunshine enabling everyone to enjoy themselves outside on the balcony.
